Kirkistown Castle Golf Club is a traditional links and the most easterly 18 hole golf course in Northern Ireland and on the island of Ireland. A popular links golf course in Northern Ireland, Kirkistown Castle Golf Club is situated in the village of Cloughey on the Irish Sea coast of the Ards Peninsula, County Down.
The main coast road separates the golf course from the Irish Sea and outstanding views from the high points of the golf course include the Isle of Man to the east, the Mountains of Mourne to the south, Scrabo Tower, Newtownards to the north west and Scotland to the north east.
Kirkistown Castle forms part of the 'Coasts of Down' Amateur Golf Tournament held each year during April. Golfers come from all over the world to play in the event which is also played at Ardglass Golf Club. An elimination process splits the competitiors dependant on their score over the two days to see whether they play on Royal County Down's Championship Course or Royal County Down's Annesley Course.
